The majority of the recipes will come from a class I am in called Pairing Food and Wine here at Lorenzo de’Medici. We make amazing, mouth-watering Italian dishes and desserts every Wednesday! We talk a little bit about the food we are going to prepare and the region in Italy it’s from. Once we prepare the food, we all sit around the table and eat each course while sipping some fantastic wine. Marco, our teacher, talks about the wine and where it’s from, what kind of grapes they use, etc.. and why/how it goes well with each dish. We usually finish 3 bottles of wine (between 12 students) each class because we pair one type of wine with each course.

I’m learning a lot! I didn’t think I really liked wine that much at the beginning but I am starting to develop a taste for it. It’s amazing how you can taste a wine by itself, and some food by itself, and they each have a flavor–but then when you pair them, the flavors together create something completely different and yummy!

Allora. If I post a recipe we made in class, I will also put the wine we drank with it in italics below the title of the recipe. Enjoy! And please tell me if you try the recipes!
